Proverbs 31 Woman

So this morning, I was reading and I found it ironic that 2 devotions I read in the same day were about the Proverbs 31 woman.  I was so encouraged and challenged in this that I just had to share.  Hopefully seeing this on our blog, will serve as a great reminder to me of what you have called us as women to be.  Thank you Jesus for not asking for perfectionism, but rather have covered us with grace to live according to your will!

Baby Moon

This past weekend, Courtney and I went down to the hill country and spent the day on Saturday in San Antonio on the river walk. It was our baby moon, or last chance trip before "baby m" gets here in May!

We had so much fun! We just walked around the river walk and looked at stuff, watched people (one of our favorite things to do), and then we went to Boudros for lunch. The weather was perfect and we were able to sit on the river! Which was a surprise for mid January. Apparently their guacamole is on the 1001 things to do before you die list...along with their prickly pear margarita, but we passed on that. :) The guacamole was actually really good! They put fresh squeezed orange juice in it, which was weird, but yummy.

After lunch, we were right next to Mr. Ice Cream, which Courtney and I had been to once before in college, so we saved a little room at lunch and went and got a scoop. After our ice cream, we walked the river a little more and then we headed out to get a couple's massage. It was incredible! Courtney got her "prenatal treatment" and I got a basic massage. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing. After that we went to BJ's and grabbed a snack before we headed back to our place in Hunt.

On Sunday, we did nothing! Which was incredible and much needed! We slept in and Courtney made these incredible cinnamon rolls that were delicious! It was a little overcast and misting that day so it felt appropriate to lay around on the couch and watch movies for a bit. Toy Story 3 happened to be on, so we decided to watch that. After a few hours though, we started getting a little restless, so we decided to clean up and go to "The Store" for lunch. We didn't really think it through but it was after 2:00 when we got there and the grill apparently closes at 2:00 so all they had was BBQ and pizza. So we decided on pizza. It was actually pretty good! I was sad we didn't get our regular burger and "seasoned" fries though.

After lunch we went back to the ranch and went for a walk since the mist had finally stopped. It is so beautiful out there and peaceful! Our dogs are always so happy to have the space and no leash too.

That evening we decided to come home so that we would have more time on Monday to relax at home and not feel the stress of traveling right before we have to go back to work. Our ritual has become a stop in Llano, TX at Coopers barbecue! It is always so delicious! We got plenty this time so that we could bring some home. Now I get Coopers all week for lunch!

On Monday, we had another lazy day. We actually went to see a matinee movie! We went to see Mission Impossible (whatever number it is now). It was actually pretty good. After that we went to get paint for Baby M's nursery! Then we topped the evening off with Chuy's for dinner! Our favorite!

We had a great weekend relaxing and enjoying our "last vacation" before Baby M gets here. But we can't wait for her to get here! It is so crazy that she will be here in 16 weeks!

We got a few videos and pics from the weekend and I put together this video. Hope you all enjoy!

Celebration of Friends

I haven't done a great job in keeping up with all of the post, but I simply couldn't forget about our sweet friends, the Milams and the soon to be McMullens.  We have so much to celebrate!  The Milams are getting ready to have a precious baby girl, Kinley.  And Chris and Morg got engaged.  We can't wait for both of these wonderful celebrations of God's rich blessings in their lives.

It's in times like these, that you realize how thankful you are to have such wonderful friends.  We have been able to walk through so much together since we all lived together in college.  Words truly can't express my love and thankfulness for my sweet roomies! I love all (Jen, Reg, Morg, and Kim) of you girls dearly!

Here are a few pictures from Kim's Shower and Chris and Morg's engagement night :)

Run, Run, Run

I just have to brag a little on my awesome hubby.  He recently ran on a relay team for the White Rock Marathon.  He had to run in the freezing weather...along with a down pour rain.  I am so proud of how hard he has worked.  He is the most dedicated person I know and I am so proud of him.  He is now training for a Triathlon with his good friend, Jay Parsons!  Holly and I will be there 110%...cheering them on!

It's a GIRL!!!

"The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy!" Psalm 126:3

We found out this past weekend that we are having a GIRL!!!  We feel beyond blessed and thankful.  Already going through this pregnancy, we have realized all the more of how much of a miracle it is to have a sweet baby's life already forming.  And to think that God already knows what is ahead for this sweet girl just amazes us!

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.
Psalm 139:13 says "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."

Both Matt's and my parents have told us how they began praying for us before we were even born.  We could not feel more thankful to have parents like this.  We have already begun to understand this a little more as we prepare to become parents.  Matt and I have already begun to pray that our sweet little girl will come to know the Lord at an early age and that she will live passionately and unapologetically for the Lord.  We have also began to pray for our sweet little girl's spouse.  That she will wait patiently for that man that God has prepared for her, and that her future spouse will also do the same.

So how we found out whether Baby M was a GIRL or BOY...

We went to our doctor to find out what Baby M was last Thursday.  The sonographer wrote on the sonogram whether Baby M was a girl or boy.  It took great self control on our part, because we wanted to take the sonogram that revealed what our baby would be to our baker to make cupcakes that were either pink or blue.  My sweet mom and dad so graciously hosted several of our close family and friends, at our gender reveal party.  We had to wait all the way until Saturday night to dig into those cupcakes, but it was totally worth the wait.  Words truly can't express how loved and special we felt.  From those that were at the party to those that couldn't make it...each and every person has made us feel so unbelievably thankful
and blessed.  We truly have the best family and friends in the world.  Here is a little peek :) (Too bad, I didn't think to get a picture of everyone at the party all together, but thanks to my sweet roomie, Morg, she captured so many great pics!  THANKS Morgie)

Also to add a little excitement to the night, our one and only RGIII won the Heisman Award.  Sic 'em Bears! Is it obvious yet, that we LOVE Baylor?!

Lastly, the last secret to be revealed, was on Monday morning to my precious 2nd graders.  They had been waiting anxiously for the day whether I would have Bob or Bobbette...yes these were names that were thrown out as to what we should name our child.

I think the video expresses what they truly felt...so take look :)

Turkey Week

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so thankful for everything God has blessed us with. Amazing family, wonderful friends, a great church, a roof over our heads...and a beautiful baby that we can't wait to meet in May!

Courtney has been so excited for Christmas since December 26th of last year, and she finally felt like it was ok to start putting up decorations :) I put the tree up and Court put all the decorations on. She did an incredible job!

So far its been an amazing week of Christmas decorating, time with family, food...lots of food, Christmas movies, college basketball, football, Cowboys winning! Aggies losing! and hopefully the Baylor Bears putting up a big win at the death star (cowboys stadium) tonight!

SIC'EM BEARS!

PS: Courtney is 16 weeks pregnant this week!!

Baby M's first picture

So we went to the doctor last week for a check up and we ended up waiting in the waiting room for over an hour. Lots of people were arriving after us and going in and coming out before we even went back! Once we got back, we had to wait some more...but it was all worth the wait when we found out what was about to happen next!

The nurse came in and apologized for us having to wait so long and offered us a free sonogram! We said YES of course and got our first "baby looking" pictures of Baby M! We still don't know what the sex is yet but we will find out in 4 weeks!

Here is Baby M's first picture :)
